Thomas P. Kislan, O.D.
Dr. Kislan  
Dr. Thomas Kislan is the founder and medical director of Stroudsburg Eye Specialists (est. 1999), Hazleton Eye Specialists (est. 2001) and Dry Eye Clinic of Northeastern PA (est. 2002). These practices are large multi-disciplinary eye care facilities which provide routine medical eye care and the treatment and management of ocular diseases, such as cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye disease, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. Dr. Kislan completed undergraduate study at Wilkes University and received his Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. He completed internships at the Lynch Pediatric unit in Philadelphia, the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center and the Trachtenberg Moran Eye Surgery Center in Allentown, PA. Dr. Kislan is an educational lecturer and speaks nationally on Dry Eye Disease, Glaucoma, Ophthalmic use of Omega 3 Fatty Acids and the management of Refractive Surgery. Dr. Kislan participates in clinical research and has presented this research at many national meetings. This research has also been published in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Kislan is a consultant for Allergan, AMO, Lifeguard Health and Pfizer pharmaceuticals. Dr. Kislan is also the host of Eye Care Today. This is a monthly show which airs on local Hazleton Channel 13 and is syndicated nationally on the web at ssptv.com. Dr. Kislan sees patients of all ages. He resides in Drums, PA with his wife, Dr. Sandra Krokos and their 5 year old son, Ryan. Dr. Kislan enjoys golf and traveling when he is not helping patients see better.
   
     
   
Sandra M. Krokos, O.D.
 
Dr. Sandra Krokos is a managing general partner of Stroudsburg Eye Specialists and Hazleton Eye Specialists. She is a graduate of Wilkes College and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Krokos completed internships at the Lynch Pediatric Clinic Philadelphia, the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center and St. Luke's Light & Laser Institute, Taragon Springs, Florida. Dr. Krokos enjoys seeing patients of all ages although she specializes in primary care and contact lenses. Dr. Krokos enjoys being a stay-at-home mom but does take requests for appointments.
   
     
   
Alexandra D. Wasmanski, O.D.
Dr. Wasmanski  
Dr. Wasmanski most recently practiced for the last five years at Vision Associates in Elkton and Havre de Grace, Maryland, a multidisciplinary and multi-physician eye care facility. Dr. Wasmanski completed her undergraduate training at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and received her Doctor of Optometry at The Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Wasmanski completed clinical internships at The Lynch Pediatric Unit, Philadelphia, Feinbloom Vision Rehabilitation Center, Philadelphia; Eye Care Specialists of NEPA, Kingston and Eagle Butte Indian Hospital, Eagle Butte SD. Dr. Wasmanski completed her residency training at the VA Medical Center, Martinsburg, WV.

Dr. Wasmanski specializes in the treatment and management of ocular diseases of the anterior and posterior segments of the eye including glaucoma, dry eye disease, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and cataracts. Dr. Wasmanski also performs routine medical eye exams, pre and post-operative care of laser refractive surgery, lensectomy refractive surgery, she fits all types of contact lenses. Dr. Wasmanski also has a very special interest in pediatric eye care and sees children as young as 6 months old. She is a proud participant in the InfantSEE program.

Dr. Wasmanski proudly welcomes new patients and is a participating provider for Medicare, Geisinger, First Priority, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Optichoice, Pennvision, Vueflex, Davis Vision, Aetna, US Healthcare, Eye Med, Blue Cross POS and PPO.
   
     
   
Frank A. Bucci, Jr., M.D.

Frank A. Bucci, Jr., M.D. is an internationally recognized expert in refractive and cataract surgery. He has been a pioneer in refractive surgery, having performed the first RK, AK, PRK, LASIK and MultiLx procedures in Wyoming Valley. He has performed over 8,000 refractive surgeries and over 22,000 cataract and lens implant surgeries. Dr. Bucci is the originator of the MultiLx procedure and is the first and only eye surgeon in Northeastern Pennsylvania to routinely implant multifocal lenses for both MultiLx and MultiLx Cataract patients. The majority of Dr. Bucci's patients who have the MultiLx procedure never need bifocals again.

Dr. Bucci is a prolific clinical researcher and has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles. He is an invited staff member at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. He is the only fellowship trained refractive surgeon in Northeastern Pennsylvania. In 1998, Dr. Bucci founded the Bucci Cataract and Laser Vision Institute dedicated solely to correcting eye disorders through the pursuit of excellence in eye surgery.

Dr. Bucci performs LASIK procedures at his LASIK suite in Kingston. It houses the latest state-of-the-art LASIK technology. This includes the only free standing excimer laser in Luzerene County featuring Wavescan and Customvue laser vision applications from VISX. In 2000, Dr. Bucci founded the Angelina Theresa Bucci Eye Surgery Center which offers the latest technology and highly trained ancillary staff. Jennifer  
Jennifer has worked with Dr. Kislan since October, 2002. She has over 9 years optical experience. She assists our physicians, not only in contact lens fittings, but also educates the patients on insertion, removal and care of the contact lenses. Jennifer is also a Certified Paraoptometric Assistant. This certification gives Jennifer the ability to assist patients in all aspect of their visit with our physicians. Jennifer resides in West Pittston with her family.

     
     
     
Jen  
Jennifer (Jen) has been in the optical profession for three years and is employed with Hazleton Eye Specialists for the past two years. She is currently certified as a paraoptometric assistant and has an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Development from Luzerne County Community College. This makes her especially qualified to assist with the management of our pediatric population. Jen recently had LASIK surgery which allows her to closely relate to patients seeking refractive surgery.

Linda, billing manager has been with Hazleton Eye Specialists since June, 2003. She has over 9 years of billing experience in the medical field. She resides in Drums with her family.

   
     
     
Audrey  
Audrey has been employed at Hazleton Eye Specialists since it opened on October 1, 2001. She has over 8 years experience in the optical profession. A graduate of the Hazleton Hospital School of Radiologic Technology, she is also a Certified Paraoptometric Assistant. This is the second of 3 certifications offered by the American Optometric Association. Audrey has worked in various medical specialties which allows her to triage our medical eye emergencies. Her experience with our geriatric patients is an asset to our practice. She lives in White Haven with her husband, Tom.
   
     
     
Anne  
Anne has been working the eye care profession since October 1995. She started with Dr. George Taggart doing intake of patients, also helped with dispensing of glasses and eventually setting up surgery dates for patients with cataracts. She came to work with Dr. Kislan in July, 2004. She is a valued member of his staff doing intake, Insertion and Removal training for Contact lens patients, fitting and dispensing of glasses, calling and confirming patient appointments and is the medical transcriptionist for the Hazleton office. She is a Certified Paraoptometric (CPO) and plans to take her 2nd test for Certified Paraoptometric Assistant (CPOA) in April, 2008. She lives in Hazleton with her family. She is the mother of 2 grown boys and also a grandmother.
   
     
     
 

JoAnn, although the newest member of our staff, she has over 25 years experience in the optical profession.  She has been ABO certified since 1994.  Her certification enables her to assist our patients in selecting the best frames and lenses for their individual wants and needs.  She recently was chosen to be a member of the Cambridge Who’s Who Registry of Executives and Professionals.  JoAnn is a great addition to our caring and compassionate staff.  JoAnn resides in Berwick with her husband, Scooter and their 3 dogs, Sassy, Tapanga, and Taz.

Rosemary  
Rosemarie has been in the medical profession for 10 years and in the eye care field for 7 years. She is certified as a CPOA with the American Optometric Association. She has been with Stroudsburg Eye Specialists since 2001. She currently lives in Stroudsburg with her husband Benny and 7 month old daughter, Giavanna.

   
     
     
Angela  
Angela has worked in the "eye field" since 1984. She received a BS degree in Biology/Medical Technology at Adelphi University in Garden City, NY. She worked for Opthalmologist David W. Langerman, M.D. in Orangeburg, NY, assisting with patients in the office and the operating room from 1984-1990 when she moved to Pennsylvania. She began working for Albert M. Navarro, O.D. in 1991 until his retirement in 1999. She stayed on with the practice when Dr. Kislan opened Stroudsburg Eye Specialists. She is certified as an Opthalmic Assistant with the Joint Commission of Allied Health Professional Organization.
 
   
     
 
Kelly has been in the eye care field for over 5 years. While employed in Brooklyn, NY, she has assisted in all aspects of eye care including refracting patients, performing tests and preparing patients for the doctor. At Stroudsburg Eye Specialists, Kelly takes patient histories, assists the doctor and helps patients with contact lens and spectacle education.

   
   
     
Janet  
Janet joined Stroudsburg after being retired for 2 years. She has worked in the eye care field for 35 years and has her ophthalmic Assistant Certification. She thoroughly enjoys her part-time position as it allows her to help patients and enjoy some traveling. Janet's previous experience includes Geisinger Medical Center, Pocono Eye Associates and Dr. Cheryl Kaufman, New York City. Janet lives in Stroudsburg with her husband, Don.

For the past 7 years, Tara has been working in the eye care field and enjoying every minute of it! She is currently a Certified Paraoptometric and plans to continue her education further. Tara's favorite part of her job is helping patients and making them happy.
